Turbo chargers allow "strap on power" and can provide great engine improvements and ultimately a good bang for buck value.
You can buy turbo' kits for cars which don;'t have a turbo on the standard engine, but not all car's can fit turbo's in the engine bay if they were not designed with enough space, so always check before buying.
Engine tuning? aftermarket-turbos loosely fall under this title, in reality they are an addition to the engine - all be it a far more substancial one than K and N filters.

Whatever the car a turbo can usually add to the performance you can get out of an engine (unless it already has a supercharger.) These days turbo diesel cars (TDI's) and smaller engine petrol cars often have turbo chargers fitted - but standard fitted turbo's usually get tuned down to provide a longer life for the engine/turbo over boost and therefor power. Uprated turbo's and aftermarket turbo kits can allow you to get a lot more power out of an engine and if it has a turbo fitted as standard then it can be very easy to simply bolt on a bigger turbo. Its not uncommon for this to be taken the the extreme with drag built cars and if you watch the modified cars with up-rated turbo chargers you will see Toyota Supra's with Lorry turbo's and turbo chargers built for heavy duty machinery.
Whether you are using two big HKS turbo's to upgrade the power from your twin turbo supra or you just want a little more juice from your TDI engine, you will find a whole hust of after-market turbo's here. Random turbo fact: did you know the Bugatti Veyron has 4 turbo's?

If you intend to install your own turbocharger we would recommend buying a kit, or at least getting assistance from a professional mechanic.
Motorbike's can also have turbochargers - in fact all forms of engines can usually be turbo charged, except of course electric motors! lol!
Greddy, HKS and Garrett are 3 names you often hear when you talk about aftermarket aspiration - and rightly so!
